Poe

A haunting finish you have achieved with the blurriness. The soft shading gives a rain-spattered effect, as if Mr. Poe were standing just outside a window looking in on a stormy day.  The eyes have a tragic cast to them:  they say, "Have pity upon my poor soul."  Suddenly, I am thinking of his story, "William Wilson"--the one about the double.  This is a shivery portrait, indeed.  Well done of the latter daguerreotype upon which it is obviously based.
